How To Turn Off Background Activity In Win7

To turn off the slide show
-
Open Desktop Background past clicking the Commencement button
and clicking Control Panel. In the search box, blazon desktop background, and and so click Change desktop background. -
Click a unmarried movie or color to gear up information technology as your desktop background, and and then click Relieve changes.

Non helpful, sad.
This is completely unlike from my desktop slide show, which is not the problem. I know how to piece of work with my desktop groundwork.
I am specifically talking about the slideshow pick in the 'pictures' binder. (similar to folders where you lot go along documents, but these folders have pictures).
when you open the pictures folder there are options at the elevation of the screen to:
1. organize
2. share with
three. slide show
4. burn
v. new folder
I foolishly clicked on slide show one day and now information technology ALWAYS reverts to running a slide show of whatever pictures I take saved in my folders, whenever the computer is idle.
There is a view option in the right hand corner, only information technology merely gives me the choice as to the size of the icons and the arrangement of the icons on the folio.
At that place is NO option to turn off the slide evidence.
I hope someone tin can help me.

OK, after my first long winded response, I tried out the instructions suggested by Julia but the 'pictures' slide show is still playing.
I cleared all and only left my regular desktop slide show but I still accept the other, unwanted slide evidence running.
sigh...

Just tried information technology again - this time working with the individual pictures - everything was cleared and the changes were saved - the darn slide bear witness is still running...
